Modern Love Mumbai: My Beautiful Wrinkles won’t age well in the hearts of audience

When I first saw Danesh Razvi in A Suitable Boy, he enamoured me with his presence on screen. So, when I saw him in the trailer of Modern Love Mumbai, it excited me, as I wanted to see what he has to bring to the table in this one. But, to sheer disappointment, My Beautiful Wrinkles directed by Alankrita Shrivastava which features Raazvi alongside veteran actor Sarika do not land quite well.

Alankrita Shrivastava is known for making stories about love beyond borders and women experiencing sexual pleasure. Here, she has created a difference in age love story. But, in an attempt to create what could be a different take on this type of storyline, she has made a short film which is creepy, cringe and cilché.

Danesh’s Kunal and Sarika’s Dilbar are worlds apart from each other due to more reasons than just age and, their paths overlap because of a reason which seemed forced.

The sub-plot that’s going on in the film which also surrounds love, could have actually been a better short film than the actual film that we were shown.
