Modern Love Mumbai: Cutting Chai is sweetest end to the series

Cutting Chai directed by Nupur Asthana is the sweet end to Modern Love Mumbai.

Chitrangada Singh is Latika, a writer who has 1 short story published under her name and trying to shoot a little higher by writing a novel. What’s creating a hindrance though, is her married life and responsibilities to look after her kids and husband. Arshad Warsi is Danny a Head Chef who loves her wife but, couldn’t realise her responsibilities as much as he should.

The dwindling love in a long time love marriage is the main plot of the story, which has put to light using flashbacks both bitter and sweet.

More than half of the short film is set in the station and I don’t know much about cinematography but, the visuals are so beautiful and soothing. The stalls, the platform, the architecture, the library over there and Latika herself, even the scene inside the train is treat to the eyes.

One thing that didn’t suit me was repetition of a similar kind of sequence brought back everytime Latika has some kind of worry. But, if that’s put aside, the 6th and final episode of Modern Love Mumbai; Cutting Chai is the sweetest tea on a peaceful morning.
